Talakona is around 54Kms from Tirupati and 9Kms from Nerabailu. This place is a bit interior. So, it is better to have your own transportation rather than depending of public transport. Alternatively, you can choose APTourism services which provides some special packages to visit this place.

Talakona means 'head hill' in telugu. This place is believed to be the head /starting point of 'Seshachalam hills' which are extended till Tirumala.

Talakona is famous for it's picturesque waterfalls which fall from a height of 300 ft. The surprising thing about this waterfalls is that you can see the water going down stream. But, you don't know where it is really going. Talakona forests has rich habitats of variety of trees/plants and animals. You can find some rare tree species of high medicinal/historical importance here.

2 Kms ahead of waterfalls, there is a famous 'Siddeswara Swamy temple' dedicated to lord Shiva. This temple is believed to be built by a devotee named 'Appa Swamy' in 1811 A.D.
